October has come and gone with it have been some moments from a food festival, golf tournament, soccer match, football game, and a street parade. Can’t wait to see what other people share.

One of my all time favorite editorial assignments was covering a polo match a couple years ago. The assignment stands out in my mind for a number of reasons and I remember having a really hard time editing it down. I told myself every picture was great and they all had equal weight because I just loved the entire thing. I’m trying to stop making this mistake and get rid of the cognitive dissonance that happens between confusing the subject matter of the image and the quality of the image.

Some shots from my first time shooting a golf match…and I didn’t get hit or yelled at for being in the line of fire!
As the month of May is quickly coming to a close it marks month #5 since going freelance. Someone told me the other day that ~65% of millennials run their own business, or have gone the freelance route. I got a little scared by that – I mean that’s a lot of competition! I’m hoping though, one way or another, that the platform will let me connect with people who are generous enough to let me help them craft a message for themselves…AND that there can be lots of collaboration soon to come.
Here are some of my favorite images from the month:

Have been shooting a couple of restaurant profiles recently, venturing a little into food photography. Here are a couple from my time most recently with a Chinese restaurant outside of Boston. Compliments to the chef and all, but it was a little challenging because not all the food looked the most appetizing!
Photographed a banquet/awards ceremony this weekend and met Olympic Gold Medalist and WNBA Hall of Famer Rebecca Lobo. In such a boring event hall I was thankful to see some energy. Editing begins zZzZzzZzZ
I want to get much more consistent with updating my blog (as I’m sure everyone does). I’m kind of in between projects at the moment, but I wanted to change things up a bit on my last two assignments shooting high school level baseball for a local newspaper client. Always interested in hearing what people think.
Putting together and editing images is always tough – didn’t shoot very much in April – but I had a couple moments I’d like to share!
I’m going through some quick personal pictures from my stay Washington DC and want to share a small gallery. Thanks for looking!
